Dads

This is a choice blog. I get to choose any topic I want to talk about. This topic is about mine and my dad’s memories. My dad and I have been close all my life. Ever since I remember him he was always there for me.  We would always watch sports together, play games, and joke around.  My dad is loving and caring compassionate guy who always looks out for his family first before anyone. My dad would always take me to Bills games. Yeah there would be a few fights at the games, but he would try to break them up. He is a peace maker in my opinion. My dad is a big believer in god. I try to go to church with him every Wednesday to prey with him. When I was really little my dad and I would grab a football and throw it around in my living room. My mom would come out being mad that we were throwing balls around the house, but my dad wouldn’t care. He would tell me to run a route in the living room and he would throw it to me and I would catch it on the couch. My other game I would play with my dad is where we would shoot this ball in this basket. Whoever did it the most times would get a piece of candy. He would let me win, but that’s what most dads would do. Sometimes my dad and I fight and I hate it. When my dad was younger he lost his dad when he was 18. If I ever lost my dad now I wouldn’t know what to do. If I had any questions about girls, drama, or a math problem, who would I go to? Yeah I know I have my mom, but she will be busy trying to support me, my brother, and my sister. My dad makes my world go round. If he isn’t there in my life my world will go downhill. My point is to love your dad no matter what, especially if he has been there all your life, because you never know when they can be gone.

Life after high school

After high school I would like to go to Medallie College. I would like to play basketball their and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. Ever since I was little I knew all the stats for each player. It could be college, NFL, or even high school. I was like a little John Madden. I knew that I wanted to be a sports analysis ever since I was little. One day I will become involved with football or either basketball.  I just love sports so much that I think they could never leave my life.  If sports ever did leave my life I would be very bored and I would probably be devastated. I will eventually move to North Carolina and open up a sports agency or somehow be a coach of some team. If none of this works out for me I will run my own business for sporting goods or create a sports complex in Alden. I think Alden would be the perfect place for a sports complex, because we are right around Depew, Lancaster, Attica, Akron, Darien, Iroquois, and Elma. There are so many great athletes around Western New York that could use this sports complex to get better at their sport all year round. This will also help out Alden too because, it would create more money for the town of Alden and the popularity of Alden would become more exposed.  If none of these plans work out for me then I will become a police officer. My family has great experience in the criminal justice field. My aunt is the secretary of the chief of police and my great uncle use to be the chief of police. I really hope everything will work out good. It is all in god’s hands.

My favorite class

I have 6 classes this year and out of those 6 classes I would have to say my favorite class has to be online publishing also known better as “the best class ever”. The reason why online publishing is my favorite class this year is, because I have a great teacher teaching me (Mr. Currin). He is always in a good mood when he comes into the classroom. He has fun with us, but at the same time he makes sure we get our work done which is good about a teacher. Another reason why I like online publishing is, because we use computers the whole class and we can type about certain topics I like to talk about.  The work is not hard at all. You have a certain amount of typing for each topic within 2 weeks which is not that bad at all. This class is kind of reminds me of a blow off class. If you miss a day usually he gives you an extra day to turn in your work if it is due the day you comeback after being sick. Another reason this is my favorite class is because, there are a lot of fun people to work with in this class. Especially when 4 of the people in this class are football players so that makes this class interesting. This class is definitely a class I would recommend to a senior that just needs an easy going class, because you learn new things about people. As you get into college this class will help you, because there is a lot of typing involved and this will help your typing skills get better and it helps your computer skills too. Overall this class was and will remain the best class I have ever taken in my high school career.

My favorite teacher

There have been many coaches and teachers in my life that have impacted me in a positive way, but no one has impacted me the way Mr. Burkhardt has. Mr. B was my English teacher in 7th and 8th grade. The first day I walked into his classroom I can tell by his personality that I was going to have a fun time with Mr. B. Me and Mr. B had a lot in common. We loved sports, joking around, and talking about life. When I was in his class he would let me move around wherever I wanted in the classroom and talk to whoever I wanted, as long as I did my work inside and outside the classroom. Mr. B would always help me with my homework whenever I needed help too. Mr. B was like a father figure to me. We would have talks about my family and he would talk about his family to me as well. He was like my mentor. During basketball season in 8th grade Mr. B would let me post my basketball stats for each game throughout the season.  He called it “The Dino Tracker”, because Dino use to be my nickname back in middle school. 8th grade year we played one on one against each other. I beat him 11 to 7. That was the first time I ever played basketball against one of my teachers. He also loved basketball like me. He use to play at the park when he was younger and when I was like in 5th grade. Mr. B was a one of a kind type of teacher in my perspective. He impacted me in such a great deal. He taught me how to be a hard worker and how to never give up on your dreams.

Bullying 101

After just reading the article “Jamey Rodemeyer Suicide: Police Consider Criminal Bullying Charges”, bullying has become a major issue for me. It needs to stop. Bullying is just like harassing someone.  It is like torcher to some people. It’s not Jamey’s fault that he turned out to be different. Everyone has unique characteristics about themselves, but it doesn’t mean that you should treat someone like crap. They defiantly should make bullying a law, because it is not right for someone to go through pain every day, because they are different.  It is harassment in a way, because you are constantly picking on them. There is nothing wrong if other people have a different orientation. Everyone has their opinion on things like this, but I don’t care if there is something different about someone. No matter what if they are black, white, Mexican, or even have different orientation, they should be treated as a human, because they are humans as well. I wonder if the people that bullied Jamey had any sympathy after he killed himself. They probably didn’t have any. People who bully have no heart or soul whatsoever. I hope that the kids who bullied get a severe punishment. I know some people that bully didn’t really have a great family life, but there is still no excuse. You should treat people the way they would want to be treated. I’m very glad that celebrities are realizing how bad bullying is like Lady Gaga. I think Jamey and Lady Gaga are very unique. They both are very different and have the same views about bullying. I hope celebrities like Lady Gaga will make a push to the white house to make bullying a law for the whole United States. Overall I think Jamey death will defiantly leave a mark on society and hopefully that mark will be turned into a law.

Best School Lunch

After going to school for 12 years at Alden I think my favorite lunch is defiantly tacos. When people think tacos at Alden, people race to be the first one in line, because they are that good! You could either get hard shell tacos, soft shell tacos, or taco salad. When you pick one of the three choices, you have an option to get cheese or sour cream.  In my opinion I would get a taco salad, because they put more meat on your trey. I would throw some hot sauce on it and have lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, cheese, and sour cream on it. Make sure you get a churro with it too because it tops it off after you eat your salad. If you put a lot of hot sauce on you taco salad make sure you get two milks, because it helps cool down your mouth after having that hot burrito in your mouth. My second favorite lunch is chicken patties. When you get a chicken patty you ask for the hot kind. After you get your patty, you put mayo on your bun, and then you put a lot of hot sauce on it, also lettuce and tomato. Usually, I go to the back to get water and an ice cream after I get done eating the chicken patty. My third favorite lunch is just a normal piece of pizza. You put hot sauce and blue cheese or ranch on the side, especially if you have fries on the side. The fries really hit the spot. Make sure you get intense milk too. The cookies and cream one is the best. Don’t forget to get an ice cream too for dessert. Overall the school lunches here at Alden are very good and the people who serve your food here are respectful too.

My Favorite Restaurant in Alden

My favorite restaurant in Alden has to be John and Mary’s. I think they have the best food in town! When I think of John and Mary’s I think of their subs. They have all kinds of subs. They have chicken finger, steak, assorted, and my personal favorite chicken ranch hoagie. They cut up chicken then they put barbeque sauce on it while it is on the grill, then they put it on the toasted roll with ranch. It is delicious! The people there at John and Mary’s are very nice and outgoing. They are very reasonable people. Another great thing about John and Mary’s is that they make the best chicken finger pizzas ever! First they put blue cheese on the doe, then you should either pick the honey barbecue or the original barbecue to go on the fingers then they cook it. It is very scrumshus. My next favorite thing about John and Mary’s is that their chicken souvlaki salad. They chop up lettuce and then throw on feta cheese, black olives, and tomatoes. The next thing they put on is the chicken and pitta, after they cook it. If you really like their pizza then you will have to try their pizza hoagie. They put pizza sauce then cheese and peperoni and whatever other toppings you want on your pizza. After it is done cooking make sure you get a blue cheese, because the sub can be very hot when it first comes out so you might want a nice cool dipping sauce to dip your hoagie in.  John and Mary’s is my favorite place, because they know how to cook. They make sure you get the best and as a customer that is what you want. The most important thing about John and Mary’s is that they are very respectful to their customers.
