Mesozoic Era

There were a lot of choices to choose from to go back to a time period but if I had to choose one time period it would be the Mesozoic Era. The Mesozoic Era is where the Dinosaurs began to expand and rule throughout the world.  It seems like it would be a dangerous time period to travel back too, but it would be interesting to study the Dinosaurs. Some adventures I might encounter on this trip back to the Mesozoic Era are Dinosaurs chasing me and finding new animals. It would be interesting to see if we could have used Dinosaurs as pets like dogs or cats. If you think about it, if you could make one dinosaur your pet you could easily make other dinosaurs your pet, but it really depends on what type of dinosaur. It would also be interesting if I was the only human and too see if they treated me as a leader their pack. Could you imagine being the leader of all the dinosaurs of the world? You wouldn’t have to really worry about anything. I would also like to experience the impact/explosion of the meteoroid hitting the earth and whipping out all the dinosaurs in the world. What if there was something that we humans could have done to stop that meteoroid from hitting the earth? Would we be ruled by dinosaurs if they survived the meteoroid hit or would we rule them? These are all questions I would want to know if I went back into this time period. This adventure would be very scary and stressful, but if we could answer some of these questions, maybe it would help us with other studies that have to relate with dinosaurs.  Overall this trip would be a fun one I would never forget.

Changing the world

I am sure there are many ways in changing the world, but one way I would like to change the world is that I would like to help the poor and give people more education in the other foreign counties. If I had more power in the world I would definitely do these things by setting up charities, foundations, and reach out to other powerful people.  I think all people deserve an equal chance in this world today. Everyone has potential has in something. It may not be sports, but it may be something to do with education. Some people that are poor could either be lazy or they may just not have basic tools of life, like reading, writing, and talking. Sometimes lazy people would just claim well fair and just call it a day. That is not how you succeed in life. You have to work hard at everything to get what you want. Some of these lazy people get this chance, but they obviously don’t take advantage of it. Now on the other hand, if you don’t get to learn the basic tools of life then that’s not fair. Everyone should have some type of an education some way. Especially to read, write, and talk. Another way I would change the world is to give free health care to people or families without a criminal record. Health care is expensive now days. That is why people cannot get treated and goes to the doctors if they have something seriously wrong with them. If we gave free health care to people there would be lesser chance of people getting sick and spreading diseases. Diseases and sickness are getting worst every day. I really hope that this blog will give some people ideas about changing the world for the better.

Philip Bifulco III

For our next blog we got a random person to interview that was part of the bulldog newspaper, and we needed to interview them. This time though I had to interview myself, because I had no one to interview. We asked each other random questions about each other. Many people ask why my name is, “Philip Anthony Bifulco III?” Well my grandpa name was Philip Bifulco Sr. and then my dad’s name was Philip Bifulco Jr., because he’s the second. So I am the third then because I am the third person in my family and third person of the generation to use my name. Some hobbies I like to do is hangout with my friends (Corey Barczykowski, John Ridlespurg, and Gabe McNamara) and play Xbox. Some games I play for Xbox are Modern Warfare 3, Madden 2012, or NCAA Football 2012. My favorite sport to play is basketball, because I just love watching crazy athletic plays happen. I also am pretty good at basketball as well. Some goals that I would like to achieve by the end of my senior year is too be 205 pounds and be in way better shape than I am now. Another goal of mine in the future is to move down to North Carolina on an internship for some sports team too work on my sports management career with. My favorite color is blue.  The most important person in my life is my dad. My dad has been in my life through thick and thin and has never been less than the great person he is today. Some life lessons I learned in my life so far are to never trust anyone. Do everything on your own if you want it. Don’t wait on other people to do your work for you. This concludes my interview about myself.

My Holiday Break

This is a choice blog and I get to write about anything I want. This choice blog is going to be about my holiday break coming up. This year’s holiday break is not going to be as fun, because there is absolutely no snow on the ground! It is crazy how there is a snow storm in Kansas and there is no snow in the Great Lakes where we usually get a lot of snow. I was looking forward to using my brother girlfriend’s snowmobile, but now I can’t because there is no snow. This Christmas should be fun. I think I got most of the stuff I wanted this year. This year I asked for a pair of Timberland boots, dress clothes, and some money from my parents. I cannot wait for the food during Christmas break, because my family makes a lot of food during the break. MY mom makes at least 6 different batches of cookies. The different cookies she makes are called Oreo balls, peanut butter chocolate balls, Italian cookies, almond cookies, sugar cookies, and last but not least normal chocolate chip cookies. Are Christmas dinners usually consist of steak, mash potatoes, and cheese burgers. During New Years we have crab legs, peas, steak, chili, and chicken wings. During the break I will probably be getting up early, because I will pretty much have basketball every day during the break. I really hope that I make it to the year of 2012 too, because I would like to enjoy the rest of my life. I don’t really think the world will end in 2012, but that is definitely one wish I would like to come true. This break will be very fun overall. I really hope I can post another blog to you guys updating my status in 2012.

Women and Love

This is a choice blog so I get to write about whatever I feel like. This blog is going to be my opinion about women. Women remind me of Aliens, because they try to brainwash us men. They are hard to figure out. Women don’t know what they want at my time and age, but I understand that because your young and you are in high school and you do not need to stress out about boyfriends, because you have other stuff to worry about. But as I get older I think women will have us believe that they are the victims; that we break their hearts for sport. That’s’ crap. They say they want romance, they say they want true love, but all they want is a check list. Is he perfect? Is he handsome? Is he a doctor? For you men who fit the criteria, don’t kid yourselves, because they are not sleeping with you, they are sleeping with a carefully calculated set of venal choices. Money over substance, looks over soul, and polished over principles. No gesture, no matter how real or romantic will ever compensate for a really impressive list of credentials. Do I believe that there is that one girl out there for every guy? Yes I do, but sometimes it could take years for us men to find them. I really hope one day I will find that one girl that I could go to anything with and have kids of our own that we could raise together for the rest of our lives. I do believe in love, but not at age 17. This is what they call puppy love. Loves is where you will do anything for that one person or were help them when they need you the most. This is my opinion about love and women in this day and age.

My Plans After High School

This is a choice blog so I get to write about whatever I feel like. I am going to talk about my plans after high school. If I don’t get a scholarship to play basketball somewhere, I will probably end up going to GCC to get my GPA up to transfer to a bigger college. I will major in Sports Management. I am leaning towards transferring to Medallie after I get my GPA or transfer to a school down in North Carolina. Eventually I’m going to live in North Carolina and hopefully get a job with a sports team down there. I’ve always wanted a 2010 Camaro with black tints and a system. That is one of my goals to accomplish after I get my job and get established myself in North Carolina. Once I am around 25 or 26 I would like to get married and have kids of my own. I am really looking forward to graduation, because it will be a new chapter in my life. I will no longer be able to make excuses for myself if something isn’t done. This new chapter will require me to work hard and do whatever I can to be successful. I would like to thank my parents for my support. They have taught me how to be a man and how to be a successful person. I would like to also thank my coaches throughout my high school career in sports. They have taught me how to work hard at whatever it is and don’t ever settle at achieving one goal, always try to have more than one goal in life. I would also like to thank my friends. Without them I would not be who I am today.

NBA Free Agency

This is a choice blog so I get to write about whatever I feel like. The NBA free agency starts today and there are a couple good NBA players that are available like Nene, Tyson Chandler, Caron Butler, Shannon Brown, and Tayshaun Prince. Some of these players though have made deals with teams. Tyson Chandler signed with the Knicks, Caron Butler signed with the Clippers, Shannon Brown signed with the Hawks and Tayshaun Prince resigned with the Pistons. I am a big Lakers fan and there was a trade rumor going around about the Lakers getting Chris Paul and Dwight Howard for Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, and Lamar Odom. Now that would be awesome. We would have a new and better big three then the big three in Miami. Kobe, CP3, and Howard, would that be even fair? Well later today I found out that the NBA denied a deal that would send Paul to the Lakers, Gasol to the Rockets, and The Hornets would get Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and Lamar Odom. The reason why they denied it is, because they said they are trying to make the NBA fair. David Stern said that there trying to limit superstar basketball players to team up on teams, which I think is bologna, because it’s the team’s decision on where they could be traded too. The team who is trading the superstar player should receive more players, because a superstar player like Chris Paul is hard to replace so you will probably need more than one player for a superstar player unless you trade a superstar player for another superstar player.  I really hope the Lakers make a push for some key players in the free agency so we could make a run for the title against the Miami Heat this year.

Alden vs Iroquois

In this blog I have an option to talk about whatever I want. Today’s topic will be about my basketball game tonight against Iroquois. We will need to run the floor a lot and get rebounds. Rebounds are a big part of this game because they have 2 6’7 kids, but they are skinny, so if we box them out properly we will have a chance to win this game no problem. Paul Matuszak will have to have a strong defensive game against Madison today. If we shut him down and keep him cold, Paul will gain confidence and take him to the hole on the offense end and hopefully foul him out. Corey will have to play scrappy. He needs to get rebounds steals and assist. If he gets 5 rebounds, 5 assist, and 3 steals, that is a game for him. I need to hit my shots if there open and drive to get to the foul line and get the easy points. Are bench needs to play good as well. If Brian and Dylan both have 5 to 10 points, I can see us winning this game hands down. Eric will need to play good defense and give us energy off the bench as well. If we do win this game we will probably have to play an athletic Kenmore East team. I know that there will be a few bumps in the road in this game, because it’s our first game, but even if we do lose this game we will learn a lot about each other and about us as a team. If we do get out rebounded this game, we will just get after it in practice, because I know that everyone on this team does not like to lose. This game will probably test are heart as a team.

Three Wishes

Usually wishes don’t come true, but if I had 3 wishes and I knew they would come true I know exactly what I would wish for. My first wish that I would wish for would be to find a cure for any cancer. My grandpa, that I never met, died when he was 49 due to lung cancer. My dad was 18 or 19. My dad was devastated and he misses my grandpa more and more each day. I have never met my grandpa and I always wanted to. Imagine if the world today was cancer free? More people would be alive and most of all more people would be happy. I give the most respect to anyone who has any type of cancer. Some of the treatments they have to do are crazy. My second wish would for my family to be more financially stable. We are having a rough time with money, because now days everything is much more expensive then it was 10 to 30 years ago. My family works hard for their money too. My dad is 57 and he still work 45 hours a week. He bends over backwards for my family and I think if we had more money there would be less stress on him. My third and final wish would for me to have a family of my own. Sometimes people don’t have the chance to have a family or they don’t have time to have one. I know that I will make time for my family. I will make all my kids sports games or significant events and most importantly I will be there for my wife and kids when they need me the most. If any of these wishes came true it would probably mean the world to me. It probably would be the best felling in the world.

Favorite Genre of Music

My favorite music genre has to be either rap or country. Yeah I know that’s an odd combination, but oh well. Rap music has a lot of history. Rap music goes back to the 70’s where there was LL Cool J, Biz Markie, Beastie Boys, etc. Now you hear Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, and etc. on the radio. These are some of my favorite artist. They affect me both in a positive way and a negative way. When I play sports I mostly listen to rap, because it gets me ready to play. It puts me in a zone where I feel that no one could stop me when I play any sport. Usually I listen to rap music when I’m in a good mood. Some of the music makes me want to dance and party with all my friends and of course with some girls as well. When I’m in a bad/sad mood I’ll listen to some songs where I just listen to their lyrics and see how they relate to my life. Sometimes it could put me worst mood or it could make me feel better and I realize that my life could be way worst. I haven’t really listen to country music long enough to know all the artist but I’m slowly starting to like it. When I listen to country music it makes me think a lot. I listen to the lyrics and I could compare some of my life to the song in any country song. Sometimes there are some really sad songs like “Whiskey Lullaby”. That song makes me tear up inside a little bit, because I could relate to that song with one my cousins killing themselves from drinking way too much and committing suicide. Music has an influence in everyone, sometimes it could be bad and sometimes it could be good.

Top 3 Movies

I have watched a lot of movies on the weekends with my dad and Mr. Altieri and I would have to say my 3 favorite movies have to be Tommy Boy, Bad Boys, and Click. Tommy Boy is one of my favorite movies is, because Chris Farley is very funny and my dad and Mr. Altieri always imamate some of the parts in the movie. Tommy Boy is about a guy named Tommy who had to take over his father’s business which was an car factory where they made parts for cars. It was called “Callahan Auto”. The company is going under, because no one has the money to buy the company after Tommy’s dad died, so Tommy and his friend Richard go all over Ohio to sell brake pads to companies. For about 2-3 weeks. They end up selling all the brake pads they have, but one night “Tommy’s dads’ wife son” decided to be a money hoarder and changed the quantity amount of brake pads they sold so they would end up with less. Later on they save the company and Tommy has a successful life. My second favorite movie is all the Bad Boys movies. It is about 2 cops they try to crackdown on the biggest crimes and in the mix somehow their family gets involved and they have to save on of their family members in the process. This movie has a lot of action and comedy as well. My third favorite movie is Click. It’s one of my favorite movies, because I make a connection with me and my dad in that movie. The movie is about a Family dad who falls asleep and sees his future with his family and it turns out bad, but when he wakes up he makes it all better.

My Favorite Book

I don’t really like to read books. I do believe that they help you with your education, but it’s just not my thing to do. I have read about 10 books in my lifetime and I have to say my favorite book has to be “Through My Eyes” by Nathan Whitaker. This book is about Tim Tebow’s struggles with transferring from playing college quarterback to being a pro NFL quarterback. Tim Tebow deals with many critics in his life. They said that they don’t think he has what it takes to be an NFL quarterback and his mechanics are very terrible. He has too long of a release in his throw and he is very inaccurate. Well if you don’t know Tim Tebow already he is a very driven person. He always tries to prove his critics wrong. Ever since the senior bowl game he has worked on his mechanics as a quarterback. He had to work on putting his arm up higher and get a faster release. When he was in college he would look like he would wind up and throw it. He worked 30 straight days on it and it improved a lot. He worked out from 7 in the morning to 8 at night. He would work out like an animal whenever he did. This one workout he did was that he pushed a SUV down this road for a couple miles all by himself. You can tell he loved football so much. His desire to prove his critics wrong was incredible. In the 2010 NFL Draft he was either going to go to the Bills, Broncos, or Miami. Well with Tebow still on the board, the Broncos moved up in the draft and snagged him with the 26th pick. Tebow was happy but he knew he still had a lot to prove as a quarterback. Once he got drafted he still worked on his mechanics and just got better and better. Now Tebow is the starting quarterback for the broncos and he has a 5-1 record as a starter.

Upcoming basketball season

This is a choice blog. In my choice blog I am going to write about my upcoming basketball season. This upcoming basketball season will be a fun season. I am hoping to lead the bulldogs into the playoffs this year, hopefully Buff State. We only have one returning starter but me and a couple of junior and sophomore Brian Stoldt should step up to the plate this season. We have 2 tournaments this upcoming season. One is at Akron and the other one is at Iroquois which is where the first game will take place. This year will be tough to win the division, because Cleveland Hill has 4 returning starters and Tonawanda has their leading scorer back. His name is Jesse Lalka. He averaged 21.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.  I think I could hold him to 10 points easy each game when we play them. Cleve Hill on the other hand is very athletic and fast. If we don’t get boards and play good defense against them then we will be in trouble. I am hoping to average 10-17 points a game this year with 5 rebounds and 4 assist. I think we have a great group of guys that can run the fast break with are size and speed. There will be a lot of doubters in are basketball team this year but I have a weird feeling that we might do something special this year. We have a deep enough bench that if someone gets hurt then someone could step right in with no problems whatsoever. With a new coach too, Andy Smith, I think he will lead us in the right path for us to win games. He is a great coach and it seems like he has a great feel for the game of basketball.

Thanksgiving in the Bifulco home

Some Thanksgiving traditions we do at my household are eating turkey, throwing the football around, watching football, and giving thanks. I wake up from the smell of turkey or food at around 9 or 10 in the morning. Then I eat and throw the football around until one of the football games come on. When we have Thanksgiving we invite all my family members over. Everyone is in a great mood for thanksgiving when people show up at my house. We eat around 5 o’clock every year for Thanksgiving so that way we could watch football. My mom usually makes turkey, green bean casserole, mash potatoes, corn, gravy, cranberries, stuffing, and sweet potatoes. For desert we eat 4 types of pies. The pies are pumpkin, apple, cookies and cream, and chocolate pudding pie. We throw the football around usually before and after dinner and during halftimes of the football games. After we are done eating around 6 or 6:30, we play board games. We play monopoly, snakes and ladders, and charades. That usually takes about an hour or so. Afterwards we watch football or a Christmas movie. After the movie or football game, usually my family leaves. After I take a nap for an hour or so because of all the food we eat at my house. I think I gain about 10 pounds each time I eat a Thanksgiving dinner  My cousins and aunts and grandma leave around 9, then my family lets us open up one gift from are Christmas pile. If it is a game for my Xbox I usually play that for the rest of the night. Every year I am always ready for a good thanks giving, because of all the food that we eat and it also brings your family together. This is the typically day of Thanksgiving in the Bifulco home.

Christmas

My favorite holiday has to be by far Christmas. Christmas gives you a chance to show you care about people. Christmas is about coming together no matter what, through thick and thin. My family has gone through a lot during Christmas time; car accidents and deaths, but for some reason though I think everyone will be healthy and it will be an awesome Christmas. When you receive gifts during Christmas, it doesn’t matter if you don’t like it; it is the thought that counts. The food around Christmas time as well is the bomb! During Christmas I eat spaghetti and lasagna. That is the perfect dinner if you are Italian. My family and I visit my grandma and aunt on Christmas. We sit around, and watch TV, and play games, and open up presents. I also like watching basketball games on Christmas as well, but not this year, because of the NBA Lockout which is very disappointing. Another reason why I like Christmas is, because we are off from school for a week and New Year’s is right around the corner. I like white Christmas’s, because it really doesn’t hit home when there is no snow. I have a feeling this Christmas will be a good one, because my family will be healthy and financially, my parents are in better shape than last year.  Christmas also celebrates the birth of Jesus.  My family is a big believer in God. Usually on Christmas my family and I go to church for about 2 hours and celebrate the birth of Jesus.  God has helped my family a lot and I think it’s the least we could do is to celebrate his son’s birth. Overall I think Christmas is the best holiday to help people get their spirits up about life and if someone is having a bad Christmas, try and turn it into a good one for them.

Dads

This is a choice blog. I get to choose any topic I want to talk about. This topic is about mine and my dad’s memories. My dad and I have been close all my life. Ever since I remember him he was always there for me.  We would always watch sports together, play games, and joke around.  My dad is loving and caring compassionate guy who always looks out for his family first before anyone. My dad would always take me to Bills games. Yeah there would be a few fights at the games, but he would try to break them up. He is a peace maker in my opinion. My dad is a big believer in god. I try to go to church with him every Wednesday to prey with him. When I was really little my dad and I would grab a football and throw it around in my living room. My mom would come out being mad that we were throwing balls around the house, but my dad wouldn’t care. He would tell me to run a route in the living room and he would throw it to me and I would catch it on the couch. My other game I would play with my dad is where we would shoot this ball in this basket. Whoever did it the most times would get a piece of candy. He would let me win, but that’s what most dads would do. Sometimes my dad and I fight and I hate it. When my dad was younger he lost his dad when he was 18. If I ever lost my dad now I wouldn’t know what to do. If I had any questions about girls, drama, or a math problem, who would I go to? Yeah I know I have my mom, but she will be busy trying to support me, my brother, and my sister. My dad makes my world go round. If he isn’t there in my life my world will go downhill. My point is to love your dad no matter what, especially if he has been there all your life, because you never know when they can be gone.

Life after high school

After high school I would like to go to Medallie College. I would like to play basketball their and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. Ever since I was little I knew all the stats for each player. It could be college, NFL, or even high school. I was like a little John Madden. I knew that I wanted to be a sports analysis ever since I was little. One day I will become involved with football or either basketball.  I just love sports so much that I think they could never leave my life.  If sports ever did leave my life I would be very bored and I would probably be devastated. I will eventually move to North Carolina and open up a sports agency or somehow be a coach of some team. If none of this works out for me I will run my own business for sporting goods or create a sports complex in Alden. I think Alden would be the perfect place for a sports complex, because we are right around Depew, Lancaster, Attica, Akron, Darien, Iroquois, and Elma. There are so many great athletes around Western New York that could use this sports complex to get better at their sport all year round. This will also help out Alden too because, it would create more money for the town of Alden and the popularity of Alden would become more exposed.  If none of these plans work out for me then I will become a police officer. My family has great experience in the criminal justice field. My aunt is the secretary of the chief of police and my great uncle use to be the chief of police. I really hope everything will work out good. It is all in god’s hands.

My favorite class

I have 6 classes this year and out of those 6 classes I would have to say my favorite class has to be online publishing also known better as “the best class ever”. The reason why online publishing is my favorite class this year is, because I have a great teacher teaching me (Mr. Currin). He is always in a good mood when he comes into the classroom. He has fun with us, but at the same time he makes sure we get our work done which is good about a teacher. Another reason why I like online publishing is, because we use computers the whole class and we can type about certain topics I like to talk about.  The work is not hard at all. You have a certain amount of typing for each topic within 2 weeks which is not that bad at all. This class is kind of reminds me of a blow off class. If you miss a day usually he gives you an extra day to turn in your work if it is due the day you comeback after being sick. Another reason this is my favorite class is because, there are a lot of fun people to work with in this class. Especially when 4 of the people in this class are football players so that makes this class interesting. This class is definitely a class I would recommend to a senior that just needs an easy going class, because you learn new things about people. As you get into college this class will help you, because there is a lot of typing involved and this will help your typing skills get better and it helps your computer skills too. Overall this class was and will remain the best class I have ever taken in my high school career.

My favorite teacher

There have been many coaches and teachers in my life that have impacted me in a positive way, but no one has impacted me the way Mr. Burkhardt has. Mr. B was my English teacher in 7th and 8th grade. The first day I walked into his classroom I can tell by his personality that I was going to have a fun time with Mr. B. Me and Mr. B had a lot in common. We loved sports, joking around, and talking about life. When I was in his class he would let me move around wherever I wanted in the classroom and talk to whoever I wanted, as long as I did my work inside and outside the classroom. Mr. B would always help me with my homework whenever I needed help too. Mr. B was like a father figure to me. We would have talks about my family and he would talk about his family to me as well. He was like my mentor. During basketball season in 8th grade Mr. B would let me post my basketball stats for each game throughout the season.  He called it “The Dino Tracker”, because Dino use to be my nickname back in middle school. 8th grade year we played one on one against each other. I beat him 11 to 7. That was the first time I ever played basketball against one of my teachers. He also loved basketball like me. He use to play at the park when he was younger and when I was like in 5th grade. Mr. B was a one of a kind type of teacher in my perspective. He impacted me in such a great deal. He taught me how to be a hard worker and how to never give up on your dreams.

Bullying 101

After just reading the article “Jamey Rodemeyer Suicide: Police Consider Criminal Bullying Charges”, bullying has become a major issue for me. It needs to stop. Bullying is just like harassing someone.  It is like torcher to some people. It’s not Jamey’s fault that he turned out to be different. Everyone has unique characteristics about themselves, but it doesn’t mean that you should treat someone like crap. They defiantly should make bullying a law, because it is not right for someone to go through pain every day, because they are different.  It is harassment in a way, because you are constantly picking on them. There is nothing wrong if other people have a different orientation. Everyone has their opinion on things like this, but I don’t care if there is something different about someone. No matter what if they are black, white, Mexican, or even have different orientation, they should be treated as a human, because they are humans as well. I wonder if the people that bullied Jamey had any sympathy after he killed himself. They probably didn’t have any. People who bully have no heart or soul whatsoever. I hope that the kids who bullied get a severe punishment. I know some people that bully didn’t really have a great family life, but there is still no excuse. You should treat people the way they would want to be treated. I’m very glad that celebrities are realizing how bad bullying is like Lady Gaga. I think Jamey and Lady Gaga are very unique. They both are very different and have the same views about bullying. I hope celebrities like Lady Gaga will make a push to the white house to make bullying a law for the whole United States. Overall I think Jamey death will defiantly leave a mark on society and hopefully that mark will be turned into a law.

Best School Lunch

After going to school for 12 years at Alden I think my favorite lunch is defiantly tacos. When people think tacos at Alden, people race to be the first one in line, because they are that good! You could either get hard shell tacos, soft shell tacos, or taco salad. When you pick one of the three choices, you have an option to get cheese or sour cream.  In my opinion I would get a taco salad, because they put more meat on your trey. I would throw some hot sauce on it and have lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, cheese, and sour cream on it. Make sure you get a churro with it too because it tops it off after you eat your salad. If you put a lot of hot sauce on you taco salad make sure you get two milks, because it helps cool down your mouth after having that hot burrito in your mouth. My second favorite lunch is chicken patties. When you get a chicken patty you ask for the hot kind. After you get your patty, you put mayo on your bun, and then you put a lot of hot sauce on it, also lettuce and tomato. Usually, I go to the back to get water and an ice cream after I get done eating the chicken patty. My third favorite lunch is just a normal piece of pizza. You put hot sauce and blue cheese or ranch on the side, especially if you have fries on the side. The fries really hit the spot. Make sure you get intense milk too. The cookies and cream one is the best. Don’t forget to get an ice cream too for dessert. Overall the school lunches here at Alden are very good and the people who serve your food here are respectful too.

My Favorite Restaurant in Alden

My favorite restaurant in Alden has to be John and Mary’s. I think they have the best food in town! When I think of John and Mary’s I think of their subs. They have all kinds of subs. They have chicken finger, steak, assorted, and my personal favorite chicken ranch hoagie. They cut up chicken then they put barbeque sauce on it while it is on the grill, then they put it on the toasted roll with ranch. It is delicious! The people there at John and Mary’s are very nice and outgoing. They are very reasonable people. Another great thing about John and Mary’s is that they make the best chicken finger pizzas ever! First they put blue cheese on the doe, then you should either pick the honey barbecue or the original barbecue to go on the fingers then they cook it. It is very scrumshus. My next favorite thing about John and Mary’s is that their chicken souvlaki salad. They chop up lettuce and then throw on feta cheese, black olives, and tomatoes. The next thing they put on is the chicken and pitta, after they cook it. If you really like their pizza then you will have to try their pizza hoagie. They put pizza sauce then cheese and peperoni and whatever other toppings you want on your pizza. After it is done cooking make sure you get a blue cheese, because the sub can be very hot when it first comes out so you might want a nice cool dipping sauce to dip your hoagie in.  John and Mary’s is my favorite place, because they know how to cook. They make sure you get the best and as a customer that is what you want. The most important thing about John and Mary’s is that they are very respectful to their customers.

Favorite Music Artists

My favorite type of music is Rap. My favorite artist for rap is either Lil Wayne or Eminem. They are my favorite, because they both tell it how it is in life. They both have gone through a lot when they were little. Lil Wayne didn’t have a dad too look up to when they were younger. Wayne grew up in New Orleans in a bad area where crime rate was at a high rate at the time.  Wayne was smart in school. He was an “A” student.  Wayne started to become a public rapper at the age of 11. By the age of 14 he was signed by Mannie Fresh. He was in music videos with Juvenile by the age of 16 and sold his first album called, “Tha Block Is Hot”. After that Lil Wayne became a superstar. He made millions. When he sold all of the “Tha Carter” albums, people said that he was the best rapper alive. Eminem, also known as Marshall Mathers was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up fatherless and grew up in a bad area like Wayne. Eminem would change schools 2 or 3 times a year on average when he was a child. Eminem was bullied when he was a kid. He was beat up and shoved into lockers constantly. Eminem eventually ended up dropping out of school at the age of 17 after he failed ninth grade 3 times. A few years later down the road, he frequently became part of rap battles in Detroit. He later got married to Kim Scott and had a girl named Haliey Scott.  Eminem sold his first album in 1996 called “Infinite”. Eminem was later discovered by Dr. Dre. Dre was one of the best rappers of his time when he was with N.W.A. He later produced Eminem’s albums and preformed with him. Eminem became a star. He was known as the best white rapper of all time. Eminem and Lil Wayne are my favorite artists, because they started form rags to riches. They show that you could do anything if you put your mind to it.

My Greatest Moment

One of my many great moments in my life is when I went to the NCAA March Madness Tournament in 2007 in Buffalo, NY. The tickets were very expensive, but it was worth every penny, because of the great experience I had. My favorite team Duke was playing there and at the time my favorite player was playing there too. His name was Stephen Curry. He played for Davidson. He was an incredible player that could score from anywhere on the court. Most of all he was a very respectful young kid who was very humble. I watched Curry play against one of my rival teams Maryland, who at the time had DJ Strawberry and Greivis Vasquez. They were great scorers and great defensive players. Even though they Davidson lost, Curry ended up having thirty points, four rebounds, three assist, and three steals. Strawberry and Vasquez ended up combining for twenty-two points, twelve rebounds, and nine assist. I guess Maryland was too much for Davidson. My Dukies were up! I couldn’t wait for them to play. They were facing Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).  VCU had a solid team with a great leader in Eric Maynor. He lead the team with twenty two points per game and six assist per game. Duke on the other hand had a great leader in Greg Paulus and DeMarcus Nelson. Duke had a very good team and was projected to win this game. VCU though came out strong in the game. They seemed like they were going to win the game, because Duke came out flat soon as they took the court. You could tell by their body language. The score was thirty-nine to thirty-eight. Then Duke went on to a ten nothing run on VCU, but VCU climbed right back and tied the score up. With 20 seconds left Maynor took a shot and hit it and VCU beat Duke, seventy-nine to seventy-seven.

Favorite Season

My favorite season of the year is defiantly winter, because I love the cold. I have lived in Buffalo my whole life and if you do not like the winter here you must be crazy! When winter comes I automatically think of basketball. Basketball is my favorite sport and I want to go play college basketball somewhere. I think this year for basketball we will go to the playoffs hopefully at Buff State to win the Section IV Title. I love having basketball in the winter, because after all the running from practice gets you really hot so once you step outside you instantly cool down. Another reason why I love winter is, because the NFL playoffs start. Hopefully we will see the Bills this year in the playoff picture and maybe a home playoff game in the snow. It is also sad though that the NFL playoffs are starting, because I love watching football and I would not want it to end. Winter also means the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres have gotten really good this year. I think they will make a race for the cup this year, because of the new owner Terry Pegula. He has a winning attitude and doesn’t even care on how much money he spends on the Sabres as long as they win the Stanley Cup. Winter is a great season to work out. You have to prepare yourself for the summer and to impress the ladies of course. Another reason to work out is to get bigger for your fall sport too.  I would have to say that the only negative for the winter has to be the driving. It is terrible to drive in this weather. Sometimes you can only go thirty miles per hour in a forty-five, because you cannot see what is in front of you.

Facebook...

Facebook is a good tool for people that are self-centered and who like to make updates every second of the day. I do have a Facebook, but I only use it too contact people or too see what my friends are doing. When I’m bored sometimes ill creep on people profiles, but I usually look at Facebook for 5 minutes then I will be done with it for the day. I am not really into starting drama. Drama is one of my pet peeves. Some positives about Facebook are that you can keep up to date with friends and families to see how they are. Another positive is that you can meet new people and get to know other people by Facebook. Facebook also tells you if there are any events going on. If you are ever bored one day you could always refer to Facebook to see if there are any big events going on.  The last positive for Facebook is that it could be used as a “home” for some people that are in the military. It helps the military people to see pictures of loved ones and too keep in contact with them. Some negatives of Facebook are that there is constant drama. If you like one thing off Facebook or say something bad on someone’s status, someone will always find out and they will thing something bad of you. Facebook could also lead to friendships or relationships to be broken up if you use it a lot. Facebook could lead to bullying too as well. Just recently someone died, because of cyber bullying. That’s terrible. Overall I think there should not be any Facebook, Twitter, or MySpace, because it causes too much problems. You could get killed, bullied, and could lose friends, because of these sites.

Favorite Things to Write About

Some things I feel comfortable writing about are sports, food, music, girls, and some current events. I love sports. My favorite sports teams are the Buffalo Bills (NFL), Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Duke Blue Devils (NCAA Basketball), and Boise State (NCAA Football). I have been a Bills fan for a long time. Ever since they went to the Super Bowl four times and lost I will no matter what be a Bills fan. The Sabres have just started coming along the past few years. They have made the playoffs a couple times and have done well. With the new owner Terry Pegula, I guarantee the Sabres will have the Stanley Cup in no time. My Dukies have done well the past couple years. They won the national championship 2 years ago and they are on pace for another title this year after bringing in the number one recruit in the nation again, Austin Rivers. They have 3 returning starters and hopefully Rivers could lead Duke to the promise land again. Boise State has become one of my new favorite teams recently. I love the blue turf they have and the way they just pass all over everybody. They are an up and coming team too. Four years ago they won in the Tostitos Bowl. It was one of the craziest games I have ever watched. This year they have Kellen Moore returning to quarterback this year again and hopefully they have a chance at the national title again. Some food that I like is spaghetti, chicken wing dip, chicken bowl, and steak. My mom makes all some of these foods when I am really hungry. My dad and his best friend Mr. Altieri make foods from the show “Man vs. Food”. They make fries, coleslaw, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fried donuts, and a fried egg.  That is called a donut burger. Girls are also a topic of discussion. They generate a lot of drama and good looks, but overall they are a nice species. Some current events I like to talk about are global warming, business taxes, and the economy or any big storm that happens.

My Favorite Year of High School

My favorite year of schooling defiantly has to be my senior year. You have a lot more freedom compared to all your other years of high school. Your freshmen year you are at the top of the food chain. You get picked on and you take a lot of grief. You do not know anyone, besides your classmates. You really only know your Vice Principal and the Principal. Sometimes you get lonely too especially if you roam the hallway by yourself. Your sophomore year you begin to mature a little bit more. You either play JV or a Varsity sport if you are good enough. If you play JV you have a better chance of starting then Varsity as a sophomore. You are able to get a job and your permit. You don’t really get picked on as much, because you will know most of the people in the school. As a junior you feel more confident. You know everything about school now and you know your teachers. You are towards the top of the bottom of the food chain. You are also maturing more and you have more responsibility. Some colleges start to send you letters too depending on how good your grades are and maybe you will get interest from a school, because of how good you play in a sport Finally your senior year is the best. You have way more privileges, but a little more responsibility then last year. You get to leave early or come in late. You have to pick a college to go to. If you play sports you have a better chance of starting, because you are a senior and understand the sport more. You mess around a whole lot more too, especially towards the end of the year with senior pranks. If your senior year doesn’t go as well as mine is then you are crazy!

Goals as a student and an athlete

This school year one of my goals as a student is to get on the honor roll all year long. I have never did that before so I figured that I might as well end senior year in a bang. As an athlete I wanted to win a state championship for football.  I have never had such a gut wrenching feeling in my stomach after we lost to Hornell in the regional game. I have never had such a gut wrenching feeling in my stomach. Are whole team has been working so hard this offseason. We have a lot of talent coming up from the JV team which went undefeated last season. We have a lot of expectations as a team and as players. If we don’t go all the way we will feel that we failed as a team and we would fail our coach.  Another goal as an athlete is to win a sectional title for basketball and get a scholarship to a Division 3 school to play basketball. I got an email from a coach to go to this college exposure camp in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on October 9th. The college is a Division II school. There will be over 200 coaches in attendance and hopefully I get looked at by a couple colleges after this camp. The sectional title will be hard to get but I think we have enough talent to win a lot of games this year for basketball. We will need to beat Tonawanda once and Cleveland Hill once to have a chance at the sectional title. We have the length and a deep bench this year. It is honestly the best it has been in the last few years. If I average about 14 points a game it will be hard for any team to keep up with us this year.
